Rachel's Guide to Newcastle and Beyond!
May 6, 2015 in Eating Out 3
The 2015 season marks the start of a new era for Rugby League and a new venue for Magic Weekend when the 12 First Utility Super League teams play an extraordinary round of fixtures at St Jamesā Park on Saturday May 30 and Sunday May 31.
Magic Weekend 2015 at the home of Newcastle United will feature three exhilarating games on each day as well as fun and activities to keep families and groupsĀ of matesĀ entertained over the whole weekend.
Many people will be heading to the Toon from rugby league heartlands such as Yorkshire, Merseryside and Lancashire, which is where I’m originallyĀ from. To helpĀ visitorsĀ make the most of theirĀ time hereĀ I was asked to present a series of short video guides and I jumped at the chance!
I absolutely loved showing off some of theĀ best bitsĀ of Geordieland and prancing about like the next Davina but looking back at the footage I can definitely understand why TV presenters are fond of a spray tan and an auto cue! Nothing was scripted in my videos which led to a few little bloopers, like this one…
Thankfully theĀ film crewĀ managed to stop me giggling long enough to create five different videos, I think this one highlighting some of the great places to eat and drink is my favourite…
You can find out more about Magic WeekendĀ and book ticketsĀ at www.rugbyleaguetickets.co.uk
Plus, ifĀ you’re in Newcastle this Friday May 8, there’s a special event taking place at Tyneside Cinema Bar CafĆ© from 6pm.Ā First Utility Super League stars from Hull Kingston Rovers, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Widnes Vikings will be joined there by local Kingstone Press League 1 side Newcastle Thunder. They’ll be meeting fans, giving you the chance to have aĀ picture taken with the Super League trophy and take part in a question and answer session. There’ll also beĀ some fantastic prizes on offer and you can watch classic Magic Weekend footage on the barās big screen.
If you are going to Magic Weekend, have fun and hopefully see you there!
You are SO good on camera .. you made me want to visit the Toon … then I remembered I’m already here š Good work x
Love it! xx
Magic weekend sounds fab and you are such a pro on camera – even with a blooper! You could be a presenter and need to start a vlog pronto!
