My Pre-holiday Pamper at House of Savannah

December 2, 2014 in Luxury 0

By the time you read this, James and I will have taken our first ever long haul flight from Newcastle International Airport and will be well on our way to Thailand, a place we’ve been dreaming about visiting for longer than I can remember! Soooo excited, but I’ve been really busy the last few weeks and have barely given a second thought to my beauty regime. As I started to dig out my summer dresses and denim shorts from the back of the wardrobe I suddenly panicked and decided to call in the professionals before braving bare legs on holiday!

House of Savannah occupies a stunning Georgian property at 1 Old Eldon Square in the heart of Newcastle City Centre and I’ve been desperate to take a peek inside since the hair salon and spa relocated here a few months ago. I missed my opportunity when there was a launch party a few weeks ago but after reading about fellow blogger Sandra Tang‘s evening of pampering, I decided to book an appointment!

SAVANNAH-77

While perusing the extensive list of treatments I spotted something called the ‘Pre-holiday pamper package’, priced at £111, it included everything I was looking for; a full leg, bikini and underarm wax, mini manicure and pedicure, eyebrow shape and tint and eyelash tint.

I made the appointment for Thursday afternoon and was invited to pop in and have a patch test for the tinting 48 hours before, but before I knew it, Thursday had arrived and I’d not had the test! I rang to apologise and the lovely staff were extremely accommodating and made another appointment for my eye treatments to be done on Friday instead, phew!

To be honest, it was the waxing that worried me more, how on earth I’ve got the age of 33 without ever braving the dreaded wax I’ll never know but after my amazing treatments at Savannah, it’s safe to say I won’t be in a rush to go back to my Venus razor! Both the bikini and underarm wax treatments were done using Lycon Hot Wax which smelt like strawberry haribo and was surprisingly pain free.

I skipped on the manicure because I’ve currently got acrylics on but the pedicure was perfect. There were loads of gorgeous Jessica nail colours to choose from and I was handed a cold glass of bubbly as my toe nails were painted, it was pure bliss! Afterwards, I was given the opportunity to relax in the aptly named Buddha Lounge, tranquil music and low lighting created a soothing ambience and a wide range of compliemntary refreshments and magazines were available, it was extremley difficult to drag myself away!

I couldn’t wait to go back on Friday and the eye treatmetments were just as fantastic as I’d anticipated, although I wasn’t expecting the soothing hand and arm massage while the tint was taking effect, that was an added bonus! I was seen by the same therapist as the day before, a lovely girl called Rosie, who greeted me like an old friend! Although House of Savannah is elegant, sophisticated and luxurious, the staff are completely down to earth and make you feel really welcome! They even gave me a generous goody bag filled with mini Kerastase products, perfect for my travels!

I now feel like a new woman and can’t wait to wear my summer dresses in the Thai sunshine!
