The NE Blogger Awards Are Back!

There’s much excitement in the north east blogging community at the moment because the NE Blogger Awards are back for second year and nominations are now open!

The awards are organised by the lovely people over at O PR, a creative communications agency based in Ouseburn and last year they hosted a fabulous evening celebration at Lane 7. I was there with my good friend Corrina (who is responsible for getting me in to blogging in the first place) and my ever supportive boyfriend James. You should have seen the look of shock and delight on my face when I was announced as the winner of Best Travel Blogger, it was a real honour!

This year the awards has a new venue sponsor so will be held on Tuesday 10th November at Bonbar, in the heart of the iconic Assembly Rooms building in Newcastle. I’ve been to a few events at Bonbar and I think it’s the perfect location!

Managing director at O PR Kari Owers said:

“Last year’s first ever North East Blogger Awards saw more than 600 nominations for local blogs from business blogs to food and fashion bloggers being celebrated. This year we’re going bigger than ever, and inviting people to tell us about their favourite blogs across of range of new categories. The judges will read every blog nominated but just three blogs in each of the categories will make the finals.”

Another exciting bit of news is that last year’s Blogger of the Year, Samantha Rickleton from North East Family Fun has been invited to be a judge. This seems like a lovely way to recognise all the hard work that Samantha puts in to her own blog. Not only that but she’s also a mentor and inspiration to so many other local bloggers (including me!) so I’m really pleased for her. Although I’m sure it’s going to be no easy task with so many brilliant north east bloggers to choose from!

First things first though, get your nominations in! You have till Friday 25th September to name your favourites at www.nebloggerawards.co.uk and don’t forget to spread the word on twitter with #NEBloggerawards
